Pyrosus are pegasi infused with elemental fire, and are thus normally found around sources of the element, such as active volcanoes and the Death's Sea. They have been known to range far away from their homes, and it is not unusual to spot them riding the current miles away from where one might expect to see them. Despite the fearsome bearing indicated by their flames which constantly roil over their bodies, the pyrosus is a normally friendly creature, which can prove problematic to those vunerable to fire. On the other hand, they can become quite violent when threatened, as discovered by those who would hunt them for their or invade their territory looking for kernels of True Fire.
