The nethermantis is a normally a purely astral creature with no
physical aspects. It can manifest when necessary, but finds the physical
world distasteful. It appears as a preying mantis, typically eight
feet tall, with a dark grey carapace. It claims an area as its hunting
ground, and defends its territory with a vengeance. Fortunately for
those who might wander into astral space, the nethermantis stays as
far away from civilization as possible, preferring pristine areas
unpolluted by Name Givers. In fact, encountering one of these creatures
is an indication of safe astral space, as the Horrors had no interest
in corrupting non-sentient beings.

The nethermantis is stronger in astral space than physical, so it
uses the listed physical attributes in both physical and astral space. |
