Battlestar
Battlestar is a weapon like no other I have ever
seen. Crafted of the finest metal, and laced with orichalcum and
elemental fire, this sword is a masterpiece of weaponcraft. It
was forged far before the Scourge, created by a powerful elementalist
whose friend fell in battle. Once completed, he called the spirit
of his companion to be housed within the crystal which lies at
the center of the guard. The enchanter has long since passed away
from old age, but the spirit still remains bound to the sword.
Through a flaw in the spells holding Battlestar’s pattern
together, the spirit is dormant until a thread is attached to
the sword. Once reawakened, Battlestar gains access to several
powers. The spirit housed in the crystal is also an elementalist,
and once awakened, can share his knowledge through a thought link.
As the bond between weapon and wielder grows stronger, Battlestar’s
powers are returned. He can command many abilities, such as gaining
access to his wielder’s spell matrices, if there are any,
and casting independently, is in conjunction with his wielder.
He can also manifest an ability similar to the Flame Weapon spell,
as well as protect his weaver from heat and cold. However, Battlestar
does not have the most understanding personality, and is easily
insulted if his wielder uses another weapon in combat. As a Name-Giver
and Adept, he demands the right to take part in battle alongside
his companions.
